Dai-Dai Tran – Urban Vector Guru

Dai-Dai Tran is a Parisian vector artist with a clear and recognizable no-nonsense style. Taking advantage of the full potential of vector-driven software, Dai-Dai’s illustrations are sharp, smart and cheeky. His portraits of celebrities - dead or alive – as Michael Jackson, Che Guevara, Pharell Williams, Michael Jordan or president Obama show a beautiful synergy of character design and storytelling, merged with original structures, vivid colors and with amazing illustration skills.

Dai-Dai Tran is clearly not afraid of a new challenge. The inspiration and energy that drives his strong graphical language comes from the streets, but his style is different from most urban artists. Fueled by his love for vector art, he enjoys both commercial jobs for magazines or advertising agencies as personal projects. Music, movies, sports and the world of arts feature highly in Dai-Dai’s work, with portraits of icons as surrealist painter Salvador Dali, rappers Biggie Smalls and Nas, French chansonier Charles Aznavour or the African-American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. The fact that Dai-Dai Tran is currently working on numerous projects means that soon he’ll upload soon loads of fresh artworks in his portfolio.
