Poked Studio, Vector Cute Meets Strange, Crazy & Weird

It’s hard to believe that Poked Studio is only one man, the talented Mr. Jonathan Ball. When you browse his portfolio, you would think that there’s at least a whole studio behind the amazing vector artworks, cartoons and flash animations. Ball is a true master in creating fantasy characters and worlds in vibrant colors, served up with a double-dose of fun & crazy. No wonder his cute and fascinating illustrations take the world by storm.

Poked Studio is the creative studio of Jonathan Ball, a graphic designer, illustrator and 3D/vector artist. Born in 1974 in Cardiff, Jonathan liked drawing from his childhood days but it wasn’t until a few years ago he realized that illustration was his main passion. He started graphic design studies at the age of 29 and has been working as an illustrator ever since. His computer skills (Illustrator, Flash, Photoshop, Blender, Freehand, …) are self-taught, involving a lot of practice. His main influences come from old school videogames, cartoons, Japanese illustration, pop culture and artists such as Lucian Freud and Phil Hale. Today, Poked Studio creates amazing illustrations for an impressive list of global brands and media, including Sony Playstation, BBC, FHM magazine, MTV, Britvic and Channel4.
