January 4, 2010 was a day of huge celebrations in the Arabic Emirates with the unveiling of the Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, world’s tallest skyscraper. Named after UAE President Khalifa Bin Zayed, Burj Khalifa Tower has a unique design and there’s no other building in the world near the height of it. An astonishing example of technological innovation, the Burj Khalifa was opened with a spectacular light and sound show, sky tracers, space canons and impressive fireworks effects, illuminating the entire Downtown Burj Dubai area. Niark1 is a Paris based graphic designer whose distorted imagination brings depth to his work. From his amazing vector art and illustration portfolio we can conclude that Niark1 is not only very talented, but he’s also very busy designing t-shirts, CD covers, flyers and working on editorial illustrations. Niark1 had his work featured in international magazines as Computer Arts, Belio, Semi-Permanent, Modart, Edtn, Joia, Rugged and De Fish.

Warning: Brazilian illustrator Guilherme Marconi’s images may cause severe reactions to people allergic to glorious bright colors and kaleidoscopic repetitions. For his project “My Schizophrenic Brain”, Marconi created wallpaper-like vector patterns, with a twist. His motto seems to be “Never Enough”. For Marconi, less is not more. More is more!

Jerome Castro, the 35-year-old vector illustrator and graphic designer behind HelloFreaks always starts his artworks with paper, a pencil or pen because this was the way it was done before computers came out. But if you look at the HelloFreaks portfolio, it’s safe to say that he’s a little bit less traditional than most illustrators.

Vector artist Orkibal Labikro hails from Malaysia and is twenty-eight this year. We’re not even sure if this is his real name because very little can be found about this amazing illustrator on the Internet. What we know? Orkibal claims to be a boring person when you consider him in the context of a human being. But when you look at him as an alien, he becomes more interesting.

Best known as the artist who designed the iconic “Hope” poster for the Obama campaign, Frank Shepard Fairey is the mastermind behind “Obey Giant”, a populist “experiment in phenomenology”. To make the Obey Giant project one of the biggest art campaigns ever, Fairey put out countless spray paint stencils in the streets, 20,000 posters and over a million stickers. Today, the “Andre the Giant” image and “Obey giant” logos are true cultural icons, surfacing in exhibitions, TV shows and films.
